Our Mission
The Lifestyle Lift Foundation was established in 2006 by Dr. David Kent, who is the founder of Lifestyle Lift, which offers a less invasive method of cosmetic enhancement that has transformed the way facial rejuvenation is performed. Dr. Kent wanted to be able to transform the lives of children who had been born with a facial defect, or had been involved in an accident that resulted in a facial deformity.
In particular, Dr. Kent was concerned with treating Hemangiomas, tumors that usually affect children, and are typically benign, but could be life threatening if they grow over the nose or mouth. Most of these tumors involve the neck and head area, and are either bright or dark red in color, depending on the oxygen level in the blood. It is extremely traumatic for the child to grow up with this very visible birth defect.
Surgery to remove these tumors is considered risky, and a patient could easily hemorrhage. Vital organs might become damaged. Fortunately, in recent years, newer innovative surgical instruments have been developed that reduce the risk of hemorrhage because they are able to cauterize as they cut. A surgeon who performs these operations must have extensive special training.
The psychological benefits of the child not having to grow up in society with this deformity are enormous. Lives that would otherwise have been lost are saved when the tumor has threatened the young patient's ability to breathe or eat normally.
Dr. Kent believes that all children should be able to grow up healthy and happy and not have to suffer the humiliation of a facial disfigurement. The Lifestyle Lift Foundation is a non-profit organization whose goal is to help the families who cannot afford to get treatment. The health and welfare of each individual child is the most important objective of the Foundation. Treatment is established and determined on an individual basis and families are informed as to what type of treatment is right for their child. The Foundation seeks to inform and to heal.
Many parents come to the Lifestyle Lift Foundation seeking help for their child which may not be readily available in the area where they live. Patients come from all walks of life, and many are from other countries.
